Description

While surgical drapes may not command the spotlight in a surgical VR training module, they occupy significant space. At Osso VR, our strategic design approach ensured these drapes effectively covered superfluous geometry, enhancing performance without compromising clinical precision.

We considered user spatial navigation to prevent any interference between the user and surgical tools with the drapes. By incorporating a combination of colliders and modifying the drape's form, we crafted a seamless VR environment conducive to unhindered procedural movement.

In addition, we integrated a rigged portion of the drape to facilitate user interaction, enabling the manipulation of limbs during surgery. This feature enhanced the immersive experience and added an extra layer of realism to the virtual surgical environment.
