Description

When news of the pandemic first hit the news in 2020, we saw multiple headlines about potential COVID-19 vaccines & COVID-19 treatments. At AXS studio, my colleagues and I wanted to create an animation that can help explain the difference between vaccines and antiviral treatments, and how they can limit the spread of viruses like COVID-19.

Since this was an internal project, we were only given two weeks. I took this as an opportunity to test out Artineering’s MNRPX render to create this watercolour look. In addition to learning and testing out entirely new software, I also took the bulk of compositing the final animation and designing the sound effects.

Shortly after this video was released, our studio was contacted by HHMI to deliver an animation using a similar watercolour style to describe the biology of SARS-CoV-2.
