Description

This was my very first illustration that I completed at MScBMC. I had the privilege of taking the course “Structure and Function” with first year medical students at the University of Toronto. Based on the knowledge I gained from hands cadaveric dissections and with reference to a specimen housed at the JCB Grant’s Museum, I produced my preliminary sketches.Carbon dust was a popular medium used by medical illustrators in the past. It was a technique developed by Max Brodel, a medical illustrator at John Hopkin’s. This was a challenging medium to work with. I had a lot of trouble controlling fine detail.
